Construction of the Small Stage venue has begun

Towards the end of this year, the initial works on the long-awaited construction of the Small Stage began, and after several decades of efforts, the dream of the existence of the Small Stage will finally be reality.

The beginning of the works was attended today by the Mayor of Niš Dragana Sotirovski, Councillor for Culture and Tourism Adriana Anastasov, as well as representatives of the Office for Local Economic Development of the City of Niš. Completion of the works is expected in October 2023.

The construction of the Small Stage is based on the project of the company “Forma antika”, with the consent of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments, because the building of the Niš National Theater is a cultural monument. The project itself was brought about with the approval of the MiNištry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia. The investor is the City of Niš, and the client is the MiNištry of Public Investments of the Republic of Serbia. The construction is financed from the project “Infrastructure in Culture” of the Development Bank of the Council of Europe.

We take the opportunity to once again thank all those who contributed to the actualization of this capital project and who support not only the work of the National Theater in Niš, but also other theaters throughout Serbia – the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the MiNištry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, and special thanks to our founder the city of Niš, which supports us.
