ABOUT THE ACTRESS

Ivana Nedović is an actress at the National Theatre in Niš.

She began her professional career at the Niš Puppet Theatre, where she was engaged from 1983 to 1990. Over more than four decades on stage, she has performed more than 100 theatre roles, leaving a significant mark on contemporary Serbian theatre.

Among her most notable roles are Rozalija in Symphony in Pain, Nina Zarechnaya in The Seagull, for which she received an award at the Joakim Vujić Festival, Rozika in The Development Path of Bora Šnajder, Božidarka in Mala, Isadora Duncan in the play Isadora, for which she received the Annual Award of the National Theatre in Niš in 2010, Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, Isergil in Gypsies Are Going to Heaven, Plyushkin in Dead Souls, as well as the Mother in the play Ice Cream, for which she won the award for Best Actress at the Duodrama Festival in Topola in 2022.

She is the recipient of the City of Niš Award for Outstanding Contribution to Culture (1991).

In addition to her theatre work, she has appeared in television productions, commercials, TV series and documentary films dedicated to Niš. On the alternative stage of Off Theatre, she has performed approximately 30 roles.

For two decades, she successfully ran the Third Half Youth Theatre, dedicated to working with young actors and developing theatre culture.

She is the mother of two daughters and grandmother of four grandchildren.

Born in 1961 (zodiac sign – Aries) in Niš (the city of heroes at the crossroads of roads).

Completed his military service on time.

Never convicted (by an earthly court… by God and people, probably yes).

Has never been, nor is he, a member of any political party.

Holds membership cards of the Scout Association, the Association of Dramatic Artists, the Association of Playwrights and the Anglers’ Association.

He forms all other alliances only with himself and his family.

Financial status – more than modest.

Co-owner of a used car, two daughters and an actress wife.

An actor by birth, a playwright by choice, a director by conviction.

Actor at the National Theatre in Niš since 1983.

Has performed more than one hundred roles.

Recipient of numerous peacetime honors and awards.

As a playwright, he has written around thirty plays, most of which have received awards at festivals and competitions.

He dislikes betrayal as a concept, yet he has published several books so far.

As a director, he has mostly directed works he wrote himself.

Artistic director of the Off Theatre stage and the Third Half Youth Theatre.

Participant in the 1999 war.

Father of two daughters and grandfather of four grandchildren.
