“The Travelling Troupe Sopalovic” guest performing in Vranje

The National Theater in Nis is performing this evening, December 16th,  at the “Bora Stankovic” Theater in Vranje. On this occasion, the play “The Travelling Troupe Sopalovic” by Ljubomir Simovic, directed by Tatjana Mandic Rigonat will be performed,. The leading roles are: Dejan Cicmilovic, Aleksandar Marinkovic, Sanja Krstovic, Jasminka Hodzic and Maja Vukojevic Cvetkovic. The show starts at 8pm.

In the play in which the main character is theater, in a drama steeped with poetry of essence, questions of a metaphysical, ontological, gnoseological, ethical and aesthetic nature are raised. They all concern the being of theater art, the relationship between theater and life and the phenomenon of acting. The drama has initiation power and beauty. The world of Simovic’s metaphors is subversive in today’s time of noise, anger, slogans, impoverished language, thinking and speech.

The play “The Traveling Troupe Sopalovic” premiered on March 11, 2019 on the occasion of the 132nd anniversary of the National Theater in Nis. This also marked the beginning of the first theater festival of the Balkan cultural space “Theater at the Crossroads”
