On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day on December 10, before the start of the show Some like it hot, at 7:45pm in the foyer of the theater, the audience will be addressed by the Committee for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality of the National Assembly of the RS member Sandra Joković, deputy mayor from the City of Niš Dušica Davidović, and the general manager of the National Theater in Niš  Spasoje Ž. Milovanović.

Nataša Tasić-Knežević, deputy president of the Committee for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality of the National Assembly, will address the audience at the National Theater in Belgrade on the same occasion, before the performance of the opera “Don Quixote”.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia, the MiNištry of Culture, the Coordinating Body for Gender Equality of the Government of the RS and the Committee for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality of the National Assembly supported the celebration of International Human Rights Day at the National Theater in Niš and the National Theater in Belgrade.

Remembering the importance of International Human Rights Day through the juncture of art and this very important social topic is a good opportunity to remind the public once again of the need to protect and improve human rights and affirm the principles of equality and non-discrimination.

A reminder that on December 10, 1948, the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This date is celebrated as Human Rights Day.
